Paradise Waterfall, warm water waterfall

Come to Izabal and swim right next to a waterfall, enjoy the how water mixing with the river flowing and choose the spot you like with your proffered temperature: hot, warm and cold.

Yes, you read it right, here the waterfall brings hot water down into the river.

The waterfall is named "Paradise Waterfall" and is a must see and a "must try".

There are trails going into the forest, you can also ask permission to camp at the place and also enjoy the local meals right next to the entrance.

Depending on the season you might find the place really quiet, the people selling local food is not permanently there so bring some snacks just in case.

What to expect at the Paradise Waterfall?

  • Warm, cold and hot water.
  • Trails for a nice trek into the forest.
  • A little mini cave in front of the waterfall.
  • Tasty meals (not all the year, depending on the season)

How to get there

From Guatemala City take the CA9 to Izabal. At the "Ruidosa" you'll find a fork, turn to the left and now you are on the CA13 road. You'll pass the Rio Dulce Bridge. Right on the other side turn to the left going to Castillo San Felipe (San Felipe Castle) and on the way there you'll see the signs to Finca Paraiso. Its about a 5 hour drive from Guatemala City and only 35 minutes from Rio Dulce Center.
