Culma Volcano

Culma summit reaches 1,650 meters above sea level. When right in front of it doesn't seem that tall.
In fact it is the easier of all the summits in Guatemala, right there you only have to climb approximately 800 meters and thats it!.
Its located in Jutiapa, a warm region but despite its low altitude, the summit is from fresh to cold and with a view you won't believe. Right there you just feel like you climbed a giant. The view of the valley is amazing and you can see other volcanoes in the area from there.
What to expect when you ascent Culma?
- An adventure. You can't get lost but the trails are not that visible at times. Just keep climbing!.
- Expect a nice view. In fact, to be the smallest volcano of all, its view is more than you can imagine it would be.
- At the side of Culma is a restaurant with swimming pool and games for kids. The food is delicious, try the steak!.
- There are no hotels at the site, but you can find some in the center of Jutiapa, at just minutes from there.
- Extra adventure: at the highest point prior the summit you have to find your way passing huge rocks. This is the best part!
- Sure, you can camp over there but there is no need to. It takes half an hour for the average to get to the summit, and only 15 minutes for the fit.
How to get to Culma volcano
Drive from Guatemala City to Jutiapa via the CA8 road and then take the turn to the CA1. Look for the restaurant "Las Charcas", I bet you this volcano blends so much with the landscape you'll just pass it by.
The whole drive from Guatemala City is about 3 hours long.
