This was a very hot day on a travel to Tikal. The sun was not “heating” the air, it was punishing us!. This is one of the most hot summers I can remember (global warming?)

The Museum of Natural History of Guatemala, located at just 5 minutes from the airport has many valuable treasures to see, but the one that captivated my attention this time is this beautiful flower.
A wide variety of animals waits for you at Petencito Zoo, from the great “Jaguar” to the friendly local birds. Get there taking a boat from the island of Santa Elena and enjoy the ride.

Climbing a volcano is always better in the early morning. This way not only you avoid the heat of the midday sun, you also get the best of the day: clear sky and amazing view.
Pacaya Volcano has by far, the best landscape to see near Guatemala City. Sometimes the clouds from a little “hat” over the summit of Agua Volcano, other times it just covers the highest part making the summit still visible. (more…)
