Pasabien River

The usually hot weather of Zacapa has a treasure right below the mountains of Sierra de las Minas.
Here at Pasa Bien a magnificent cold water river waits for you at just minutes from the highway.
The river goes from wild to peaceful surrounded by stones of different sizes and a nice natural environment.
The entrance has some options for parking, and also some places to eat. You can also park inside the natural complex near the “comedores” next to the river.
Getting there is no problem as the road is in great conditions. It is a quiet and peaceful place. You can stay the night at one of the many hotels right next to the highway which is in fact, a constant growing region with modern accommodations.
What to expect at Pasa Bien?
- You can find many modern options to eat and to stay the night. The hotels are quite modern, consider the traditional ones: “El Atlantico” or “Longarone”.
- The atmosphere of the place is really peaceful and quiet.
- Expect ATMS, restaurants and stores.
- The weather is usually warm.
- Find and enjoy fresh and cold grapes right next to the highway when getting to the region.
How to get to Pasa Bien?
From Guatemala City follow the road to “El Atlantico” (Carretera al Atlantico), or CA-10. You will see a sign on a fork with a turn to Coban to the left and to Izabal (Puerto Barrios) to the right. Take the turn to the right.
Stay on the road and drive until you reach a very, very commercial area filled with restaurants and hotels. Here you can choose your place to stay.
Right ahead, just at the end of this commercial line you will find a turn to your left, ask to make sure it is the right one as there are no signs over there. Here you go straight to Pasa Bien. The drive from Guatemala City is about 2 hours and a half.
From this point you can continue your journey to Playa Dorada, Puerto Barrios, Castillo de San Felipe or Flores Peten (Tikal).
